Antioxidant 300 uses
Antioxidant 300 is a typical thiobisphenol antioxidant. As the main antioxidant of hindered
phenols, due to its unique structure, it has dual functions as a free radical terminator and
a hydrogen peroxide decomposer. It is suitable for polyolefins, polyesters, polystyrene,
resins, and polyvinyl chloride, and has a relatively good effect as an antioxidant for
polyethylene cable and wire materials. Also suitable for white, bright or transparent products.
The general dosage is 0.5% to 1%. In addition, it exhibits excellent synergistic effects when
shared with carbon black.
Preparation of Antioxidant 300
1.The synthesis of 1.3-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol involves adding meta phenol, isobutene,
aluminum trichloride, and concentrated sulfuric acid to a reaction vessel, stirring and
heating to 310-320 ºC for alkylation reaction. After the reaction is completed, the reaction
product is neutralized and distilled to obtain 3-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol.
2.3-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol reacts with sulfur dichloride at a temperature of 45-50 ºC.
After the reaction is complete, dissolve in petroleum ether and cool to crystallize, then
filter, wash, and dry to obtain the finished product.Antioxidant 300 product package
