Mc is colorless, transparent, heavier than water and volatile liquid. It has ether like smell and
sweet taste. It does not burn, but forms an explosive mixture after mixing with high concentration
oxygen. Mc is slightly soluble in water and miscible with most commonly used organic solvents.
It can also be miscible with other chlorinated solvents, ether and ethanol in any proportion.
Mc can quickly dissolve in phenol, aldehyde,ketone, glacial acetic acid, triethyl phosphate,
formamide, cyclohexylamine and ethyl acetoacetate.
